Today tough leadership is nothing more than a deceptive illusion of power and control. Disillusionment of those who fall into this trap of old power will be fast and painful. Old order is collapsing because it has lost all its foundations - economic, social, moral. The world has been changed and keep changing with unparalleled pace. Tough leadership is a pillar of a collapsing structure. By strengthening it we’ll not be able to fix the basement. It will fall inevitably no matter how strong it is. Nothing will fix the basement any more. The structure of old power is collapsing both around and inside us.
Our internal order is broken beyond any repair. Understanding and accepting the new underlying foundations of humanity is the only way to put the new workable order in place. It is a tough job for anyone who was born in the old era and brought up into the old beliefs. Dismantling beliefs is hard enough but unlearning habits is even harder. However sometimes we can recognise and accept the new values only by adopting new behavior first. Rebuilding the structure within on the new foundations is the first step to building a new workable system outside. Change in behaviour appears to be an inevitable perquisite of the new internal order. Building of the new order is a journey. It’s not a one time event. It can’t be achieved by a heroic feast or an overwhelming one time effort. Abandoning old habit that we knew was bad is hard. Abandoning old habit that we believed was good and brought us a lot of past success is much much harder. Learning a new habit that contradicts with our experience and understanding is enormously hard. Only outstanding individuals can do it all by themselves. This is the reason why we need a community of like minded people. Community without any mentors or gurus. Community of peers who are trying to do things the new way. Who fail, recover and keep trying. Supportive safety net of think alikes will not make this exercise less painful. Yet it will provide a better healing after each, even the bitterest, failure and more appreciation after each, even the smallest, success.
