Jeroen de Groot started his career as Store Manager MAKRO Cash & Carry Netherlands in 1992. He was appointed Operations Director MAKRO Thailand in 1994 and afterwards Operations Director MAKRO Cash & Carry Belgium in July 1998.
In August 2000 he took over new responsibilities outside of METRO GROUP and joined METRO GROUP again in February 2003 as Operations Director METRO Cash & Carry Netherlands.
In September 2004 he was appointed Operations Director MAKRO Cash & Carry Poland and was promoted to Managing Director MAKRO Cash & Carry Poland in April 2006, before he took over the position of Regional Operating Officer Central East Europe METRO Cash & Carry International in January 2008.
On August 1, 2010 Jeroen de Groot took over the position as Managing Director of METRO Cash & Carry Russia and on June 1, 2011 he was appointed as Chief Operating Officer CIS - Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, combining new position with responsibility for METRO Cash & Carry Russia.
